August 25, 2010

Hihihihi family!

I had so many emails from the family it took me fifteen mins to read them all and now I only have fifteen mins to write to ya'll! ah. i have so much to say but so little time to write it. My trip out here was very uneventful... there were about 15 other missionaries on the flight to england. The jet lag was terrible and i slept a total of three hours on the plane ride and then the following day we got to the MTC and we did NOT get a nap. They put us through meetings and devotionals and then i fell straight to sleep at ten thirty and was wide awake at 3:30.

Since then we have been on a terrible (but fantastic) schedule. We have class, meetings, devotionals, and everything spiritual all day and then fall asleep and do the same thing all over again! The mission president said last night in a temple devotional that when missionaries are called on a mission and arrive at the MTC they can see themselves for who they really are inside. I have seen myself and I can tell you that I have SOOOOO Much work!! wow. wow. We go out street contacting on friday... its wednesday. we have three days. i am so worried. i know that if i trust in the Lord and rely on the Power and Authority of my calling then i will be able to do everything i am asked to do.

My companion is a frenchy!! He speaks... well... french and a little bit of english. Its hard to watch him struggle so much to find certain words... I can tell he has the strongest testimony inside... but when he tries to share it he hits a wall and cant express himself. Its like a prison for his soul... so terrible... makes me so thankful I don't have to learn a language. I feel like im so behind and i'm learning no language. i love Elder Brozzu and he will make a wonderful missionary and I am excited to watch and help him grow. Plus at night he sings "i shot the sheriff, but i did not shoot the deputy"... in his cute little french accent! It is literally the greatest ever.

The MTC is gorgeous, i took some pictures and will send them to you next week in a letter. All the teachers here have to coolest accents! i love it. my accent is a mixture of all the nationalities represented here... which is english, french, srilankin, german, albanian, spanish and italian plus some african. how i talk changes everyday. we have 26 Elders here and 4 Sisters and they are from everywhere. we represent every continent :) so cool. i love getting to hear how they grew up and the schooling they went to and their great experiences. my knowledge of the gospel seems like it doubles everyday. i feel as though i knew nothing before. i love literally sucking the marrow out of the Book of Mormon and Preach my Gospel. The principles and lessons we can learn are numberless.

I miss my family. i really do. you all gave me so much support and its support i need.
this gospel is true. i know it. i also know that the best way to share that is through serving my Savior for two years. i am grateful for this opportunity.

I love all of you. Till next Wednesday.
